FOUR-MINUTE VIDEO SUMMARY

The Fire Warriors had recently seemed at an all-time high following the massive victory of the Challengers Cup II tournament, however drama ensued with massive leadership changes described in our previous post. Things seemed to have mellowed out following the induction of two fresh leaders, however this was not the case. This massively unexpected shutdown was announced amidst an event post pertaining to the fourteenth anniversary of the army. Hours later, a full website post was posted including more insight into why this decision was made.

Fire Warrior’s obituary poem

He also included a few paragraphs about the army and its closure, which are as follows:

“I was originally going to write regarding the closure being somewhat unexpected, though the more I consider it the more I realise that it is, in fact, was, expected sooner or later. The army has been on a decline. Whether it’s the upcoming September drop, the incident or our growing egos after taking home the Challengers Cup II, it was certainly coming.

I do believe that I speak for the entire army when I say wow. What a ride! In just seven or eight months we did so much together. Whether it was our first tournament against Silver Empire, nearly beating them in their prime or when it was the first themed week, our Marvel one. Or even more recent, when we took home the Challengers Cup II, beating the Golden Troops, Smart Penguins and People’s Imperial Confederation: all prominent S/M armies who are legendary in their own right. We did so much together. And much like our usual battle tactic, “we win together, we fall together,” it is finally time, after winning together, that we fall together.

It isn’t often that I write in this style. I have never led an army this long, to their end. I normally find myself retired by the time death rolls around but it was different this time. As you may know, I really, really tried to find somebody else to undertake this task. I did not want to continue leading this army after the incident. Though I’m glad I did. I love this army more than any other out there, including the legendary SWAT that I led to insane heights during Club Penguin Online. This was just the most fun for me.

At the start of the post, I attached a poem. It is often read at British funerals, and I guess you could say that this sort of is one. This is the funeral of Fire Warriors. Yet it’s nothing at all. The Fire Warriors have died many times in the past yet just last week we won a tournament. Due to that, I believe I should allow the door to remain at least somewhat open regarding any future returns. But, please, for the sake of common courtesy I ask you to talk to me before you go about making anything named Fire Warriors.

As for what is next? I have no idea. I’m usually the one with many ideas, trying to implement them all at once. This time, I have nothing. I believe the best course of action is to leave the server opened to all individuals who would like to speak there. As I am leaving the door open, I do not wish to convert to a gaming server like the Underground Mafias or the Doritos have done before, but I am sure we can find the time to get together and have game nights as the family we are.

Before I move on to outline some suggestions, I’d like to take a brief moment to thank you all. Anyone who ever attended an event, anybody who has ever helped us one way or another. A huge shout out to our brother allies, the People’s Imperial Confederation for their work in recent months and thank you to the Ice Warriors, Rebel Penguin Federation and the Water Vikings too.

I understand that simply because Fire Warriors is done with Armies, that you may not be. You, naturally, are free to undertake positions in other armies but I do strongly suggest you join the People’s Imperial Confederation, or any of our other allies. You can Direct Message me for any invitations you require.

Thank you for making my dreams in Club Penguin Armies come true.

~Sweater, Fire Warriors Legend.”

In honour of the tragic passing of this army, I will be giving a moment of silence and a tribute song with full military honours here.

CPAO also conducted an exclusive interview with Fire Warriors legend, Sweater himself over this closure, which will be documented here:

Why is this closure so abrupt? Even if there are underlying issues it feels super sudden.

Sweater: To the wider community it may seem sudden but this conversation was first started well over a month ago, even before CC2. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Do you think there is ever a chance FW can reopen in the future with said issues that killed it fixed?

Sweater: I would love for FW to reopen in the future. I'm unsure if I personally would take part, but I'm happy to let trustworthy individuals have a shot in the future.

What would your advice be to former FW who now don’t have a home?

Sweater: If they wish to still take part in armies I would suggest for them to join one of our allies, or to hop around until they find somewhere they can be themselves. It's hard moving from one community to another but I know so many of our troops have a lot to give to this game.

Do you have any final comments on your army for this interview?

Sweater: I'm extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish. The first time I tried, many in the community tried to shut us down for being "invalid" and whatnot. Those same snakes congratulated us time and time again whenever we succeeded. If I have learned one thing from my time leading this army it's that the people who try to bring you down are secretly your biggest fans.

As Sweater has stated, it looks like the shutdown of the Fire Warriors was imminent, and recent events had only been a catalyst for the closure.

What do YOU think? Will the Fire Warriors ever return? How many troops will the Fire Warriors have in attendance foe their grand sendoff? Will the notorious BigXing recruit the former Fire Warriors troops into the Templars? Let us know YOUR thoughts in our discord server.
